Karen Black

For more than two decades, Karen Black has guided businesses in such key management areas as leadership development, team building, conflict resolution, assessments and coaching. She is an alliance partner with The Bailey Group and will support us with similar services in select client engagements.
Using her experience with more than 50 businesses and organizations, Karen is focused on supporting long-term profitability and organizational effectiveness for any size company. She is a certified coach and mentor to business executives, human resources departments and management teams. Her professional experience prior to founding Insight Edge includes sales and marketing for the hospitality industry, human resources in private industry and executive leadership for a not-for-profit organization. Karen offers real world experience coupled with her academic background.
Trained as a teacher, Karen received her bachelor’s degree in special education at St. Cloud State University, during which she secured an internship to teach gifted children on the Papago reservation in Arizona. She earned an M.S. in management and an M.A. in conflict management and dispute resolution, both from Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. She recently served as adjunct faculty at Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. She served as adjunct faculty in Master’s programs at both Baker University and Benedictine College.
Karen contributes her skills in communication and leadership development to causes that help women and children. For the last 29 years, Karen has lived and worked in Kansas City, but returned to her native Minnesota in 2010. She enjoys reading, eating, attending theater and music events and spending time with family and friends.
